During our trip in Egypt we were lucky to see one
picturesque Nubian village situated on the bank of Nile River some miles sought
ofAsuan. First we have visited a small island with beautiful Tropical Park
that was on the middle of the river.
I haven’t expected to see houses like these in the Nubian
village where the ruffs, the colors and the interior of vendor’s house were so
strange and exciting.
The woman-vendor used her own home as a store. Visitors were
welcome to go around the building, to look at all rooms and stores.
In one side of the large living room was the exposition of
all things for sale. Visitors could take a cup of lotus tea have a conversation
with the lady-vendor and choose some of masks, dresses, shawl or statues. This
family also sales animals like camels, cows and…little crocodiles. I have held
one suit baby-crocodile in my hands taking care not to touch his mouth. The picture was done from the own+erer of the house....
Walking down the only horizontal street I was thinking about
this strange village - if the houses were so pretty, why the yards and streets
were so ugly?
There were not any tourists around here and the villagers
were surprised to see me alone in their place. It was time to join my husband
and our guide. Here the dark comes very fast and the streets don’t have any
light. It is time to take the boat and go back to the ship.
